341/365 Photo Project - Curiosity And The Cat

Image
Curiosity And The Cat Looking for inspiration for a photo of the day project after a hard days slog at work isn't always easy but chasing one of our cats around the house until they concede to have their photo taken wasnt such a chore because they are inevitably various curious creatures. Asta tried to smell the lens on my camera and wondered why I was shoving it in her face. Taken with the Pentax K200d with the  Pentax DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL lens  , with a close-up +10 filter attached in MF. No flash was fired. Color correction in p ost processing.

314/365 Photo Project - Well Hello There

Image
Well Hello There I wasn't going to be allowed to get an extra 10 minutes of sleep this morning if our cats had anything to do with it. Thanks Asta! Taken with the  LG Optimus Elite , no post processing.

156/365 Photo Project - Cats Eyes

Image
Cats Eyes I was fortunate enough to receive a LED flash unit for my birthday, and this is one of the first shots I've had a chance to take with it. I really like the subtle level of light it brings to this photo of Asta's eyes without blowing out her highlights or making her squint too much which has typically been my complaint with my Pentax K200d's on camera flash. Taken with the Pentax K200d mounted to a Pentax DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL lens and using the Newer LED light .

142/365 Photo Project - Cat Napping

Image
Cat Napping Asta always finds the most inconvenient places to crawl up for some cat napping. Taken with the LG Optimus Elite tone correction in post processing necessary.

110/365 Photo Project - It Wasn't Me

Image
It Wasn't Me Asta looks particularly suspicious in this photograph; I wonder what she knocked off the shelf this time. Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS with on camera flash, no post processing .

35/365 Photo Project - Cat Portrait

Image
Cat Portrait Asta patiently sits for her portrait. I like how her eyes are sharp and in focus even in the low light of our living room. Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS in portrait mode, no post processing.

13/365 Photo Project - Asta

Image
Asta With a busy day of non-stop work and the bad weather continuing I had to resolve to finding the subject for today indoors and luckily one of our cats was indifferent to posing for this shot. I moved the cat stand to be under the overhead light in the hall and shot in 'Kids and Pet' mode on my P&S, no post processing needed. Despite my best efforts to gain her attention she was more interested in a dust bunny floating by that I disturbed by moving the cat stand. Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS which I think did a great job in this low light, hand held situation, there's no blurriness and I particularly like the sharpness of her eye.
