Mums It may seem ironic to post a photo of Mums on my Dad's birthday but there it is. Taken with the  Canon PowerShot SX230HS  in portrait mode to try to give some selective focusing and depth to the frame, flash did not fire. No post processing .

Japanese Andromeda Staying close to home again with today's shot of this Japanese Andromeda in our front yard that is still showing signs of new life. In fact it seems to be thriving in the very erratic, warm and humid fall Boston weather that we have been getting of late. Shot from the front room of our home towards the street. Opting for portrait mode on my P&S I focused on one of the new buds and was pleased that the SX230 was able to blur out the background, something normally I would only aim to achieve on my Pentax DSLR. Taken with the  Canon PowerShot SX230HS  in portrait mode, flash did not fire. P ost processing for tone correction only.

Campanula Blue Bells Another weekend, another trip to the local garden center to pick up some more plants and flowers to fill the yard of our new home. This Campunula immediately grabbed my attention and thought making it square to fill the entire frame would make a dramatic shot, especially being lit from being my the early morning sun. Taken with the LG Optimus Elite , cropped for square, no other post processing.

Window Framed This is my first photo taken with my new LG Optimus Elite . With it's 5 megapixel cam it is a wrodl apart from the 1.3 megapixels of my old phone. I now have absolutely no excuse for being able to capture more opportunities that life presents. Taken with the LG Optimus Elite with no post processing necessary.

Blossoms In Boston Blossoms in Boston hold on through the biting wind chills that came through the area this week. Taken with the LG Rumor Touch phone, no post processing .

Going Bananas While out grocery shopping today I committed the sin of not having my camera with me, not even my camera phone, so today's photo was taken with the extremely bad lens of my iPod touch which as you can see takes extremely awful indoor light shots at the extremely low resolution of 960x720. Taken with the iPod touch camera, attempted noise reduction in post processing .

Tomatoes at Whole Foods It's the weekend and it's early morning, that can only mean one thing, a trip to the grocery store to stock up on fruits and veggies. I couldn't resist taking a snap of these tomatoes that look very appetizing stacked in the aisle at Whole Food's. This starts a theme that I'll be using for photos on this blog of 'filling the frame'. Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS
