Run Squirrel Run This little guy ran out in front of me while in Medford Square earlier this afternoon and I had just enough time to grab my camera and capture him before he was gone, running across the road and thankfully avoiding all traffic.   Taken with the Pentax K200d, handheld with MF using my  Sigma 70mm F/2.8 EX DG Macro Lens , tone adjusted and cropped for square in post processing.

Museum of Modern Renaissance If you are in the Davis Sq area of Somerville you will find one building that catches your eye. The Museum of Modern Renaissance it turns out is just as interesting on the inside as the out. Taken with the LG Optimus Elite , cropped for square in post processing.

After The Rain I knew that once the rain cleared today that there would a chance to capture something interesting if I head out and explore South Boston. This office building had a glass awning that had captured the rain. Taken with the LG Optimus Elite , cropped for square and tone adjusted in post processing, it looked a little too bright straight out of the camera when in real life the sky was still gloomy.

Tomato Macro With the weather outside not cooperative today I fell back on the theme of Macro photography. A tomato left over from yesterday's dinner is the target for today. Campanula Blue Bells Another weekend, another trip to the local garden center to pick up some more plants and flowers to fill the yard of our new home. This Campunula immediately grabbed my attention and thought making it square to fill the entire frame would make a dramatic shot, especially being lit from being my the early morning sun. Taken with the LG Optimus Elite , cropped for square, no other post processing.

Clematis This unknown clematis breed is thriving in our backyard and became the focus for today's photo. Taken with the Pentax K200d mounted to a Pentax DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL lens with on-camera flash to add some 'fill', no post processing. Addition: I believe this is possibly Clematis ‘Etoile Violette’ after doing some research.

A Rose By Any Other Name The late afternoon sun was striking the roses in our backyard in just the right way I couldn't resist choosing one of the pictures I took for today's post. The small specks of green on the rose are actually pollen of which there is a hell of a lot in the air lately, achoo! Burger And Fries Not exactly inspirational, but it's all I had time to take a photo of today during all of our unpacking. I can tell you these were very tasty though, although I can't wait to have a really BBQ grill again and be able to fry some of these bad boys up for real instead of in the frying pan. New View New home, new city, new view and hopefully a new (less stressed) outlook on life. Taken with the LG Optimus Elite with +2 EV, yes you can adjust exposure compensation on this camera phone, pretty amazing for such an inexpensive device.

Wristwatch I was thinking that there are many photos posted as part of a project that it's hard to verify were taken on the actual day posted. So here's a photograph of the anniversary gift I received from my Wife. I finally had the strap adjusted this past weekend but it's still a little too large for my wrist. It's a very nice watch though, solar powered and should never require a new battery, so it may outlast me assuming the sun returns to the Boston area some time soon. Too Early For Strawberries It may be a little early in the season for these strawberries that have just been watered out side a local store but they have me crazing strawberry ice cream, especially with the high 80s returning to the area today. Reliable Sprinkler Alarm I thought I'd contract yesterday's patterns on the ground with today's patterns on this wall which plays host to a fire alarm. Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS , tone corrected and cropped for squaring in post processing .

Sun Over The Boston Public Gardens A walk through the Boston Common and Public Gardens after work today allowed me to capture the sun shining brightly overhead while the temps hit 80f. Taken with LG Rumor Touch I snapped 2 photos and combined them in post processing to make one large square aspect ratio frame for a total of 1622x1622 before uploading to blogger.

Fire Escape Out of the office, to take a break away from my computer screen, for lunch today and I happened upon this fire escape in South Boston. I like the repeating pattern of the wrought iron. Battery on Granite I almost forgot to take a photo today, but this dead battery on the kitchen counter top provided an opportunity to test the close-up focusing abilities of my Canon P&S. Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS in macro focusing mode without on camera flash, cropped for squaring, no post processing. The light here is provided by the overhead kitchen pot lights, using on camera flash would have blown out the details and reflected in the granite.
