316/365 Photo Project - Flying The Flag For Veterans

Image
Flying The Flag For Veterans With Veterans Day being this weekend I thought it apt to capture a flag flying to honor the veterans, unfortunately there wasn't much wind to whip up the flag Taken with the  Canon PowerShot SX230HS  in landscape mode, flash did not fire.  Converted to B&W in post processing, with selective color cut out with the magic wizard tool.

307/365 Photo Project - Flying The Colors

Image
Flying The Colors The contrast of this flag flying not so high amongst these fall colored trees caught my eye for today's photo. Taken with the  Canon PowerShot SX230HS  in landscape mode, flash did not fire.  Cropped in post processing to remove distracting objects from the frame.

244/365 Photo Project - Back In The US of A

Image
Back In The US of A While trying to stay in vacation mode I head out for lunch a local area restaurant and it wasn't hard to find old glory flying high overhead. I would guess that there isn't another country in the world that has so many instances of its own flag waving everywhere, you certainly wouldn't see so many instances of the Canada flag in Montreal for instance. Taken with the LG Optimus Elite , cropped and the flipped horizontally so that the flag is waving in the correct direction.

186/365 Photo Project - Happy Fourth Of July

Image
Happy Fourth Of July Happy 4th everyone, now the rain has stopped I'm off to fire up the grill and have a cold one so I thought I better take today's photo before the fun begins. Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS at a fully extended x14 zoom and cropped in post processing to fill the frame.

155/365 Photo Project - Flying The Flag

Flying The Flag The weather was a little more co-operative today for flag flying. You might think this is for the Queen's Jubilee, but actually I'm flying it for my birthday actually, ha. Taken with the Canon PowerShot SX230HS tone corrected in post processing to add a little pop because it was still a miserable and dark day. Addition: As noted in the comments, I suck at flag flying. Next time I'll do better I promise!

154/365 Photo Project - Union Flag

Image
Union Flag It seems only apt that the day I fly the 'Union Flag' in honor of the Queen's jubilee that is is the wettest weekend of year so far here in the Boston, Ma area. Reminds me of my heritage even more! Taken with the LG Optimus Elite, tone corrected in post processing.
