Photography Project - Clouds

Image
A great summers day with a light cooling breeze from the ocean provided the first oppurtinuty I've had in a while to take a shot for my photography blog. Clouds - W ollaston Beach Taken with the  LG Optimus Elite ,  handheld, these 3 shots where combined in post to one long panarama. This is W ollaston beach in Quincy . P ost processing to combine images and improve contrast.

Photography Project - Into The Sun

Image
This evening was just the perfect weather for biking, not too hot, not too humid and plenty of light to be seen by the Boston area automobile drivers who simply don't give a crap about cyclists. #staysafeoutthere Into The Sun Taken with the  LG Optimus Elite ,  handheld .  No post processing. Another contender for this subject was the following shot taken from my back yard with the  Canon PowerShot SX230HS  handheld in landscape mode. Into The Sun I must like taking shots in to the sun, looking at my photos I've taken this year so far this one from April is another contender for this subject.  Taken with the  LG Optimus Elite ,  handheld .  No post processing. Statue of George Washington

Photography Project - Rainbow

Image
I had set myself the target of capturing the Rain in, but I think this shot of a rainbow is more interesting. We've not had a lot of rain this year but it is always nice to see the sun come out again when it does rain. Rainbow T aken with the  Canon PowerShot SX230HS , cropped in post processing for aspect.

Photography Project - Landscape

Image
In the most unlikely of places was shot a photo for an assignment entitled 'Landscape'. This was taken in the center of London. Hyde Park to be precise at sunset providing I think you will agree a rural landscape in an urban setting. Landscape - Hyde Park, London at dusk   Taken with the  LG Optimus Elite ,  handheld,  no p ost processing.

302/365 Photo Project - The Oncoming Storm

Image
The Oncoming Storm This scene of a local area mill was rather bland, converting it to infrared B&W in post processing makes the skies seem more mean than they were and I think is more inline with how everyone on the eastern seaboard feels today with  hurricane Sandy fast approaching. Taken with the Pentax K200d with the  Pentax DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL lens  , in MF with p ost processing as described above.

298/365 Photo Project - Boston At Dawn

Image
Boston At Dawn I couldn't resist standing up on the busy red line train on the way in to Boston this morning and capture the suns light shining on the John Hancock Tower. Taken with the  LG Optimus Elite  from the Longfellow bridge with glass reflections removed in post processing where necessary.

277/365 Photo Project - Grey Skies

Image
Grey Skies With the arrival of fall and the miserable weather in the Boston area it is becoming increasingly difficult to find blue skies and fluffy clouds on the horizons to make for interesting landscape photographs. So today we will have to make to with this shot of the dismally depressing sky land as viewed from the attic of my home. Taken with the  Canon PowerShot SX230HS  in landscape mode with  no post processing.

270/365 Photo Project - Overcast Over The Charles River

Image
Overcast Over The Charles River In New England you quickly learn that the weather changes by the hour, and today was no exception. A freezing cold morning was quickly replaced by a hot and humid afternoon but these clouds over the Charles river certainly didn't look very warm and inviting. Taken while on the red line T as it crosses the 'Salt and Pepper' bridge towards Cambridge. Taken with the  LG Optimus Elite , some window reflections removed in post processing.

264/365 Photo Project - Boston Fort Point

Image
Boston Fort Point The autumn clouds flying high over the Boston skyline, taken from Fort Point. Taken with the  LG Optimus Elite , no post processing.

262/365 Photo Project - Little Fluffy Clouds

Image
Little Fluffy Clouds While heading out to work this morning these little fluffy clouds passing above caught my eye. If only those overhead cables weren't in the way this might have been a true keeper. Taken with the LG Optimus Elite , no post processing.
